Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama
One of the makeup products that I can’t live without – besides concealers – are definitely mascara’s. I have typical Asian lashes, which means I have naturally short and spars lashes – like almost nonexistent. So thank Lord for makeup, ‘cause I can surely use some help on the lashes department. Whenever a product claims to elongate and volumise the lashes, I’m always down to try any new product, so of course I had to try Maybelline’s “new” mascara, called The Falsies Push Up Drama. I wrote new in quotation marks ‘cause I believe this mascara has already been launched in the U.S. for quite some time, but of course we, in The Netherlands, are most likely late in the game with everything and anything. Despite the late launch here in The Netherlands I still would like to do a review on this latest mascara, since this product is new to us Dutchies, so without further ado lets get into the review.
Packaging
The package of this mascara was definitely the first thing that had caught my attention. When I first saw the packaging, I thought it was a two-step kind of mascara, the one that you have to apply a primer first and the mascara after, but don’t let this design fool you ‘cause there is no primer included just only the mascara itself. Nonetheless, I do like this packaging; the two-toned color design looks kind of cute and unique to me. The quality of the packaging is decent and doesn’t feel cheap at all. I love how the cap is slightly thicker than the tube itself ‘cause it provides a much better grip while applying the mascara.
Product
This mascara contains 9.5 ml product, which is a pretty decent amount I would say. The wand of the brush is made of plastic. As you can see from the picture down below, the bristles are quite spaced out from each other and maybe too spaced out for my liking. I find that whenever I put some mascara on, a lot of the products tend to linger on and also through the lashes, so you’ll have to keep continue brushing through the lashes until the product is nice and even out.
I have to say with just one coat I can immediately see the big difference between before and after. The flexibility of the brush makes it very easy to work with and the bristles are great on separating the lashes.
By the second coat you can definitely notice how much volume it has instantly added to the lashes. One tip: don’t let the mascara dry between the coats, ‘cause otherwise it will clump up the lashes and believe me, you don’t want that. I have experience it before while I was making these before and after pictures and it was bad when I tried to add the second coat.
Overall this mascara really does what it claims; it lifts the lashes very well and also does a great job on volumising the lashes. This mascara retails for € 15,49 and you can find it at any drugstore.
