July Favorites
Where did the time go? In a blink of an eye, we are already reaching the end of July. I just realized that it’s been two months since I did my last ‘Monthly Product Favorites’ blog post, crazy isn’t it?! Over the past couple of weeks, I have discovered a few beauty products that I’ve been loving lately. I have been using them constantly and consistently for the past two months now and it’s all because they are that awesome! So let me share my new finds of this month with you guys.
1. L’oréal – Infallible Mattifying Foundation
Why on earth haven’t I tried this foundation sooner?! This foundation is, hands down, the best drugstore foundation I have ever used. This product really does what it claims; it gives full coverage and keeps your skin matte all day – there is no need for any touch ups. Once this foundation is applied, I do mean it’s applied, ‘cause it won’t move or budge until you decide to remove it. After hearing these pro’s, you’d probably think it’s a heavy foundation leaving you with an uncomfortable feeling skin, but it’s nothing like that at all. This foundation absorbs into the skin like it’s nothing, which I really appreciate. What I also like about this product is the packaging; its simple and not bulky, so it’s also travel friendly. I don’t think I can praise this product enough. It is simply amazing, so it’s definitely worth trying if you are still looking for an affordable matte foundation.
2. M.A.C. – Soft & Gentle Highlighter
I have been looking for a great highlighter for the longest time, ever since I can remember. And now I have finally found one. This highlighter by M.A.C. has a gorgeous rosy color with golden shimmers; it gives the skin a nice, subtle and healthy glow.
3. NYX – Eye Shadow Base
A friend of mine was raving about this eye shadow primer by NYX, which made me very curious about this product. Since I am already familiar with the brand and know that NYX has some great makeup products in their line, I just couldn’t wait but to try this one out. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know that I’ve been struggling with my eyeliner, as it always will budge or transfer to my eyelids no matter which brand or eyeliner I use. Up until now, I’ve been using powder on my eyelids to prevent the eyeliner from smudging. However, this method doesn’t work very well in the summer when it’s hot and humid. But let me tell you, this primer really held it up even during a hot summer day, so I’ll be taking this one with me on my vacation for sure! And needless to say, it’s super affordable and works like no other, what more could we ask for?
4. NYX – Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in N° 635 Doll
This lipstick has become one of my go-to lipsticks for the past couple of months now. I just keep forgetting to feature this lipstick in my monthly favorites blog posts, but this time I will not. I have been obsessed with this lip color; it’s the perfect rosy plum color for me. The pigmentation of this lipstick is crazy and just like its name it has a really nice creamy texture. It won’t dry out your lips and the greatest part is that I don’t even have to do touch ups, ‘cause this one stays on the lips for some good few hours.
5. The Body Shop – Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask
I saved the last product, but definitely not the least product for you guys. The results of this clay mask by The Body shop really blew me away. I’ve never tried a clay mask that provides such miraculous results. This is a recommended clay mask for people with combination to oily skin. I have a normal to slightly oily skin. I occasionally get oily on the T-zone and at the same time, I have little skin peels around my nostrils. But this clay mask has smoothed out my skin immensely. It feels incredibly hydrated and soft, even after a week! After applying a thin layer, the mask rapidly dried on my skin. The mask gives a tight and tingling feeling, which lead to a stinging sensation. At first it kind of scared me ‘cause it does felt uncomfortable at some point, but I guess that means the clay mask is doing its job. When I washed off the mask with lukewarm water, I felt that stinging sensation again and that feeling was getting quite intense after applying my night cream, but luckily this only lasted for a few seconds. I hope this won’t scare you off, because this clay mask is really effective. My skin has never glowed like this before!
So there you go. My top 5 products of the month that I’ve been loving. I hope you guys will love these products as much as I do. Until next time my loves!
