Homemade Lip Scrub
It may be nice to be able to get warm and cozy again with this cold weather especially when you’re at home with the heater on and scented candles filling your home with sweet spices that perfectly enlightens this fall season. But of course with cold weather comes dry skin and that’s not what we have been waiting for. So now it’s the perfect time to show our skin some love and get them prepared for the colder days ahead.
You see, most of the times we unconsciously neglect our lips while we actually should prep them well since it’s a part of our face and we use them to communicate with people, meaning they get a lot of attention on a daily basis. Also if you’re a lipstick junkie like I am and use lipstick regularly – if not everyday – then you’ll probably get annoyed of those chapped lips. So it’s about time that we make some changes, get our lips back to its best condition making them soft and kissable again with this easy DIY lip scrub that is made with all natural ingredients! This lip scrub is full of nutrition, so it’s not only going to soften the lips but it is also very nourishing. Now without further ado lets get this DIY lip scrub started.
What you’ll need:
- 1 tbsp. coconut oil
- 1 tsp. honey
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. rose water (optional)
- A small jar
1. Take 1 tbsp. coconut oil and microwave it for 20 till 25 seconds it should melt into a liquid formulation.
2. Start adding 1 tsp. honey and mix it well with the coconut oil.
3. This step is optional, add 1 tsp. rose water into the bowl for that subtle odor.
4. Add 3 tbsp. sugar into the mixture and stir well.
Voila, here you have your very own homemade lip scrub. This lip scrub is literally as sweet as pie due to the honey and sugar ingredients and it’s as easy as life. Just take a little bit of the lip scrub on the finger and start gently exfoliate the lips for about 30 seconds and just wipe it off with a tissue paper.
After use, store this lip scrub in a small container and keep it in a room temperature environment. Since it’s made from natural ingredients it won’t last too long, this lip scrub will last approximately about 2 weeks.
