Black French Manicure
Finally it’s time for us to relax and enjoy the weekend! For today I wanted to do something different so I have prepared a unique nail art tutorial for you guys, the Black French Manicure.
I have wanted to do this Black French Manicure tutorial for a while now, but never could get myself around to it, due to my weak and brittle nails during the winter, which meant that I had to cut my nails every now and then. Now, luckily, they have come around. As summer has arrived, I now have stronger - and somewhat - longer nails. I know they are still kind of on the shorter side, but don’t worry, this nail art will work just as fine on long nails. Besides that, I don’t really like my nails to be too long, because I find it to be hard and uncomfortable to work freely with my hands.
Now back to this Black French Manicure nail art. I love this nail art, as it is not the typical French manicure we all know, I like how it’s so unusual. It looks edgy but clean at the same time. Now let’s begin shall we?!
What you will need:
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Clear matte nailpolish
- Black nail polish
- Scotch tape
- A pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint your nails with a base coat as it will protect your nails from the damaging effects of nail polish, it also prevents staining and peeling.
Step 2
Apply two coats of the black nail polish to give the nails a richer look. I recommend that you wait 10 minutes in between before applying the second coat, just to make sure the first coat has dried completely.
Step 3
Apply the matte nail polish and wait 10 minutes before heading to the next step.
Step 4
Now cut ten pieces of scotch tape, just make sure it is long enough to wrap around the nails. Stick the scotch tape a few times on the back of your hand to take a bit of the stickiness away. This way it will prevent ruining all of our hard work we did before.
Step 5
Stick the scotch tape almost on the edge of the nails and leave 2 to 3 mm space and paint that area all over with a top-coat.
Step 6
Last step, immediately remove the scotch tape (gently) to get that clean and polished straight line.
Tada~ those nails are done! Easy isn’t it? I admit it is a bit time consuming, but trust me it is all worth it!
